Toots & the Maytals – Pressure Drop (1972)

A seminal reggae track which seems to get used as shorthand for social, political and cultural strike in late 70’s/early 80’s Britain or perhaps it is ‘just my imagination’, ‘pressure drop’ sounds as fresh as a freshly baked french loaf on a summers morn and as energetic, alive nay vital as a newborn puppydog shot full of adrenaline bungee jumping from an aeroplane piloted by radicalized, coked up fighter pilot chipmunks???? yeah…i lost my train of thoughtfulness there boys & girls. sorry. i just got so excited listenin to the damn song. It’s a beautiful ting as Alan Partridge might say.
