Icehouse – Hey Little Girl (1983)

Oh, so Ferry, Ferry good. Growing up on Irish radio of the late 80’s and early 90’s, Aussie group Icehouse remain most familiar to myself for their 1987 radio fave ‘Electric Blue‘; a prime slice of uncool, calculated pop rock winsomeness. Dodgy mullets, oversized leather jackets and formulaic guitar solos and cliched sentiment were their cheesy province. In their early 80’s incarnation however, they favoured a more eyeliner heavy, sophisticated adult new wave pop sound that would make even David Sylvian envious. Plus, they have the word ‘ice’ in their band name and I am surrounded by snow at the moment. Brilliant link or what?
