The slightly snarky title of this post will give you a clue as to my feelings about Pina. Maybe I was being a little bit harsh on Wim Wender’s latest project, a documentary and tribute to the late Pina Bausch who was a pioneer of modern dance, the film was shot in 3-D and there is no argument that it does feature some stunning dance sequences and movements but I got irritated by the films overtly serious and pompous tone which no doubt can be attributed to Wenders, whose style of film-making I’ve often found quite frustrating.

Maybe I shouldn’t be deliberately putting off those who might want to read my review which is now up on Film Ireland and can be viewed here but then again, I’ve never been much of a salesman.
